Matthew Harwood
Trustee
Matthew’s connections with Kenya began in 1970 when, at the age of 18, he left his home country, the UK, to spend a year as a volunteer teacher at a Harambee school in Central Province. In 1976 he was back in Kenya again, having trained to become a barrister, and joined the Attorney Generals Chamber’s in Nairobi as a State Counsel. Between 1979-83 he served as the Provincial State Counsel for the Coast Province in Mombasa and represented the government in several major trials. In 1988 he returned to the UK and a few years later re-trained to become a Jungian Analyst and Psychotherapist. He qualified in 1996 and has maintained a private psychotherapy practice in the UK ever since. He maintains a close interest in Kenyan affairs, and loves to return to Kenya from time to time and visit Kenya Kesho’s projects. He is proud to be a trustee of Kenya Kesho and watch it achieving its aims and objectives so successfully.
